New Delhi: Micro-blogging site Twitter is working to introduce a feature called Twitter Articles that would give the liberty to users to post longer text in their tweets. Twitter Articles feature would let users break away from the current limit of 280 characters to post a tweet on the platform. Twitter users, however, can post longer pieces via threads, but that results in interrupted tweets.
According to reverse engineering expert Jane Manchun Wong, the Twitter Articles feature is currently under development. Further details of the upcoming feature are not yet known. "Twitter is working on 'Twitter Articles' and the ability to create one within Twitter Possibility a new longform format on Twitter," Wong tweeted from her account @wongmjane.
The famed reverse engineer and tipster also shared a screenshot of the Twitter Web interface that showed "no Twitter articles yet" and "create a Twitter Article".
Meanwhile, earlier in January, Twitter started rolling out a new feature that lets NFT or non-fungible token owners as their profile pictures. This feature, being rolled out for Twitter Blue users only, will enable NFT owners customise by connecting their crypto wallet to their Twitter account and displaying an NFT as their profile photo. Twitter Blue is the premium subscription service from the micro-blogging site.
Twitter Blue is a paid service and it has features that will let Twitter users undo tweets, read news pieces without advertisements and also allow them to try out some features early. Twitter Blue subscription went live in the US and New Zealand earlier in November and is available for $2.99 per month. The paid subscription aims to enhance the premium subscribers experience by offering better features and services.
