A new report says that cybercriminals are capitalising on the allure of "Gold" verification badges on X by selling compromised accounts for phishing and scams on dark web marketplaces and forums. CloudSEK, a cybersecurity firm, highlights the significant threat these accounts pose to both organisations and individuals, as they can be exploited for spreading disinformation, executing phishing attacks, and pilfering sensitive information. The Elon Musk-owned microblogging platform introduced X Gold as a paid feature, offering accounts a gold badge in addition to the blue and grey ticks, symbolising legitimacy and brand recognition. Regrettably, the simplicity of acquiring Twitter Gold has enticed malicious actors who are buying and compromising accounts to advance their illicit activities, as highlighted in the report.
iPhone 16 Pro May Get Upgraded Ultra-Wide Angle Camera
Famed Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of TF Securities has suggested that Apple is mulling to enhance the camera setup on the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models.
