The Doodle prominently features a snow leopard adorned in Ladakhi clothing, a tiger wearing a dhoti-kurta while playing a musical instrument, and a majestic peacock in mid-flight, all rendered in intricate detail.

Additionally, an antelope carrying a ceremonial staff and other animals representing various regions of India highlights the country’s vast heritage. Each element of the Doodle reflects the vibrant traditions and the spirit of celebration that define Republic Day.

Google described the Doodle as a celebration of India’s national pride and unity. The artist, Rohan Dahotre, also shared his perspective on the significance of the day, emphasising how Republic Day unites people across the nation. “With its incredible diversity encompassing countless languages, cultures, traditions, and more - India feels like a vibrant world within itself,” he remarked.

Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas

As part of the Republic Day celebrations, the annual parade on Kartavya Path in New Delhi will showcase India’s military capabilities and cultural heritage. Sixteen tableaux from states and Union Territories, along with 15 others from Union Ministries and organisations, will participate in the grand event. Notably, Madhya Pradesh’s tableau will spotlight Project Cheetah and Kuno National Park, a nod to India’s commitment to wildlife conservation.

This year’s parade carries the theme “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas” (Golden India: Heritage and Progress), highlighting the delicate balance between preserving India’s legacy and fostering its development.

The Republic Day celebrations also uphold the tradition of inviting a foreign dignitary as the chief guest. While French President Emmanuel Macron attended in 2024, Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi graced the event in 2023. This tradition adds an international dimension to India’s celebration of its constitution and democratic values.

The day stands as a powerful reminder of India’s journey as a republic and its unwavering commitment to unity, diversity, and progress.
