OpenAI Postpones The Launch Of 'Voice Mode' Feature In ChatGPT By A Month — Check Details

OpenAI explained that the reason for the delay was to ensure a smooth and safe user experience.

OpenAI's ChatGPT was supposed to launch the 'Voice Mode' in late June earlier but now, the company has announced that it will push the release of this feature to July. As per reports, OpenAI encountered some technical difficulties with the feature which left them with no other choice but to delay the launch of the much-awaited Voice Mode. OpenAI in a tweet earlier said that they had planned to start rolling out this update in alpha to a small group of ChatGPT Plus users in late June but now they need one more month to hit their set target prior to the launch.

OpenAI in a tweet said, “We’re sharing an update on the advanced Voice Mode we demoed during our Spring Update, which we remain very excited about. We had planned to start rolling this out in alpha to a small group of ChatGPT Plus users in late June, but need one more month to reach our bar to launch.”

Why Was The Launch Of ChatGPT's Voice Mode Feature Postponed?

The company explained that the reason for the delay was to ensure a smooth and safe user experience. It stated, “For example, we’re improving the model’s ability to detect and refuse certain content. We’re also working on improving the user experience and preparing our infrastructure to scale to millions while maintaining real-time responses.”

According to reports, ChatGPT's advanced Voice Mode is capable of understanding and responding with emotions and non-verbal cues. This new feature might help us in moving closer to real-time and natural conversations with AI.
