Game developer Rovio has launched the immensely popular classic Angry Birds game again for Android and iOS devices.
New Delhi: Game developer Rovio has launched the immensely popular classic Angry Birds game again for Android and iOS devices and the game comes at a premium without any in-app transactions. The classic Angry Birds game has been relaunched as Rovio Classics: Angry Birds this time and since it comes at a premium of Rs 85 there are no ads in it.
Finnish game developer Rovio has made the Rovio Classics: Angry Birds available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store almost a decade after the original game was launched. The Rovio Classics: Angry Birds game is a recreation of the original Angry Birds game as it appeared in the app stores back in 2012. The game includes all chapters from the original game circa early 2012, along with all of the Easter eggs and extras found in the game at that time.
"hey, it's ur childhood speaking. through the years, you've grown, and we've grown too – but some things will always stay the same. Rovio Classics: Angry Birds is finally back 4 u to enjoy! http://rov.io/AngryBirdsClassic go pop those piggies, and make me proud. i've missed you...," Red the Angry Bird announced on Twitter.
Originally built in Rovio’s proprietary game engine, Rovio Classics: Angry Birds has been rebuilt from the ground up in Unity, creating a more sustainable platform for the game to be offered on newer devices, while preserving the authentic 2012 Angry Birds experience.
“While we were rebuilding Angry Birds, we took great care to preserve the feeling of the original Angry Birds game,” said Sami Ronkainen, executive producer. “We know our fans are a discerning bunch and will be able to pick out even small differences. Matching the gameplay, and appearance of the game next to the original was crucial.”
It should be noted that After Angry Birds was removed from app stores in 2019, fans had flocked to social media, banding together to call for the game’s return.
