Redmi 12 Series Launched In India: Prices, Specs, Colours And More

Both the variants of Redmi 12 come with 5,000mAh batteries with support for 18W wired fast charging.

Handset maker Xiaomi on Tuesday launched the much-anticipated Redmi 12 series in India. The Redmi 12 smartphone has been unveiled in a 4G and a 5G variant. The Redmi 12 4G variant features a MediaTek Helio G88 chipset coupled with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of onboard storage. The 5G variant of Redmi 12 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard memory. Both the variants of Redmi 12 come with 5,000mAh batteries with support for 18W wired fast charging and both the devices run on custom MIUI 14 based on Android 13. The Redmi 12 5G is the country's first smartphone to house the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC.

Redmi 12 Series Prices And Specifications In India

The prices of the Redmi 12 4G in India have been set at Rs 8,999 for the 4GB/128GB variant and Rs 10,499 for the 6GB/128GB variant. The price of the 5G variant has been set at Rs 10,999 for the 4GB/128GB model, Rs 12,499 for 6GB/128GB model and Rs 14,499 for 8GB/256GB. The Redmi 12 4G and 5G variants will go on sale starting August 4 on e-commerce platforms, mi.com as well as Xiaomi's retail stores across India. Redmi 12 4G will retail on on Flipkart while Redmi 12 5G will be available on Amazon.in. The prices mentioned here include exchange bonuses and bank offers. The Redmi 12 4G and 5G models are available in three colours: Jade Black, Moonstone Silver, and Pastel Blue. At this price point, the Redmi 12 series competes with the Samsung Galaxy F44, the Realme C53 and the Galaxy M14, among others.

The budget Redmi 12 4G has a 50MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro sensor while the Redmi 12 5G features 50MP dual rear cameras.

The Redmi 12 5G has a 6.79-inch FHD+ display with 550 nits of brightness and 90Hz refresh rate display. It has a 91 per cent screen-to-body ratio. The 4G model also sports a 6.79-inch full-HD+ panel with a refresh rate of 90Hz and a peak brightness level of 450 nits. The displays have a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass for protection.

The company also expanded its ecosystem with the launch of the Redmi Watch 3 Active alongside the Redmi 12 series. The Redmi Watch 3 Active offers hands-free calling and is compatible with the latest Bluetooth 5.3 for better connectivity and an enhanced calling experience. Sporting a premium metallic finish, the Redmi Watch 3 Active watch has a flexible and a strap with an advanced locking mechanism for a secure and comfortable fit.
