OnePlus 10T 5G Does Away With Brand's Famous Alert Slider And Hasselblad Branding

The company has confirmed it has done away with its trademark alert slider on the OnePlus 10T after almost a decade.

Handset maker OnePlus is set to launch the OnePlus 10T 5G soon and an early look at the device suggests that the company would ditch its famous alert slider and Hasselblad branding for the smartphone. The company has confirmed it has done away with its trademark alert slider on the OnePlus 10T after almost a decade.

The OnePlus 10T has a design language similar to that of the OnePlus 10 Pro, however, OnePlus has ditched the alert slider/mute slider in this device. Also, there is no sign of the Hasselblad branded primary cameras that were seen on some of the recent OnePlus flagships, says a report by The Verge.

According to an email interview with The Verge, OnePlus chief designer Hope Liu said that ditching the slider was necessary for the 10T to have enough internal space for other components needed for “high wattage charging, a large battery capacity, and better antenna signal".

Earlier last week, OnePlus officially teased Android 13-based Oxygen OS 13 that would be unveiled along with the upcoming OnePlus 10T 5G smartphone at an event in New York City globally, including India on August 3. It should be noted that the OnePlus 10T will be the first device with the T nomenclature after the OnePlus 8T. The T iteration started with the release of the OnePlus 3T back in 2016.

The OnePlus 10T would come with a top-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. "The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is one of many reasons we’re confident the OnePlus 10T will satisfy anyone who craves ultimate performance. Naturally, we’ll have more to say about our next flagship as we move closer to its in-person launch," Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus, had earlier said in a statement.
