Children are interested in either playing video games on mobile or watching YouTube. Today we tell you how dangerous online gaming can be for children and parents.

1- First threat - robbery on bank balance

In Jhansi, UP, a woman lost 7 lakh rupees in 2 months. The amount was deducted from her account. The investigation of the cyber cell revealed that the 12-year-old child of the woman bought the weapons used in the game to update the game.

- Jhansi-

The son of a contractor, a resident of the Lalitpur Kotwali area of Jhansi in UP, was so addicted to online games that he bought weapons and 5G mobiles used in the game while completing the game stages. While playing these games, he blew about 1.5 lakh rupees from his father's account.

- Kanker-

In Kanker, Chhattisgarh, a woman lost Rs 3.22 lakh in 3 months. The amount was deducted from her account. The FIR was registered, and the investigation revealed that the woman's child lost money in the process of upgrading the game levels.

- Dehradun-

In Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, a 13-year-old boy blew 7 lakh rupees from his father's account for playing online games. The child had bought some gift vouchers for Google Play from the shopping app through David Card. He bought gift vouchers worth 7 lakh rupees in 3-4 months.

2- Second threat - mental illness

Addiction to online gaming has adversely affected the mental health of children. There is a two-fold increase in mental illness in children. Children are complaining of headaches, body aches, and eye problems due to continuous exposure to games. Children as young as 3 to 4 years old are becoming victims of gaming. Children become violent if they do not get access to electronic gadgets.

Tips to protect kids from online gaming.?

Sometimes parents are busy with work. Parents engage the child with the help of a device. This is how children start getting addicted to online gaming and watching online videos. Here are tips to protect your children from addiction to online gaming.

  • 1- Do not use mobile constantly in front of children.
  • Let the children play outdoor games. This will increase their physical strength, and they will learn to stay away from online games for a considerable time.
  • 2- Spend time with your children.
  • 3- Try to find out the interests of the child, and provide things accordingly.
  • 4- Encourage children to read books and play outdoor games.
  • 5- Kids should be engaged in different activities like dance or drawing as per their liking.

 If children are used to cellphones then-

  • . Keep changing your mobile password.
  • . If the child insists, engage the child in other activities.
  • . Unlink your bank account from apps like Play Store.
  • . Keep checking their mobile from time to time.
  • Monitor the apps used by the children.
