The online campaign, launched by British Columbia resident Qualia Reed and backed by New Democratic Party (NDP) MP Charlie Angus, has attracted more than 250,000 signatures so far.

"We, the undersigned, citizens of Canada, call upon the Prime Minister to revoke Elon Musk's dual citizenship status, and revoke his Canadian passport effective immediately," the petition states.
In response, Musk made his stance clear late Monday, dismissing the entire situation by stating, "Canada is not a real country."
