Weather Update: Parts Of Tamil Nadu To Experience Rainfall For Next Four Days
In Chennai, IMD said, the sky is likely to remain cloudy and parts of the city will experience rainfall coupled with thunderstorms for the next 48 hours
Chennai: Parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal including Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Cuddalore and Tiruvanamalai districts are set to experience heavy rainfall coupled with thunderstorms for the next four days. The rains are set to continue due to the formation of a low-pressure area over South West Bay of Bengal.
In a release, India Meteorological Department said, "Mild to moderate rainfall will continue in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. The rainfall will continue with thunderstorms in Tiruvannamalai, Vellore, Ranipet, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur and Ranipet districts till October 9."
In Chennai, IMD said, the sky is likely to remain cloudy and parts of the city will experience rainfall coupled with thunderstorms for the next 48 hours. The maximum temperature will be 34-35 °C and the minimum temperature will be 27 °C.

The India Meteorological Department also issued a warning to fishermen. The IMD said, "Squally winds with speed reaching 40-50kmph gusting to 60 kmph are likely to prevail over Comorin area, Gulf of Mannar and adjoining South Tamil Nadu coast, Southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lankan coast. Hence, fishermen in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts are advised not to venture into these areas during the period from October 5 to October 9."
