With Eye On Lok Sabha Polls, Tamil Nadu Minister Udhayanidhi Begins Statewide Campaign
Till now, Udhayanidhi, who is also the son of Stalin, has covered 10 districts in less than two weeks.
Tamil Nadu Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Udhayanidhi Stalin started to meet the party district and local units in what appears like a preparation for Lok Sabha Polls 2024. The DMK, however, maintains that the campaigns are held to mobilise the party units for the state conference of DMK youth wing to be held in Salem. It is incidental that the party has decided to hold in Salem which is the home turf of AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami.
Udhayanidhi Stalin started the series of meetings from Kancheepuram on August 18. Till now, it is reported that Udhayanidhi, who is also the son of Stalin, has covered 10 districts in less than two weeks.
DMK sources told IANS that Udhayanidhi Stalin was eager to engage in a round of political campaigning ahead of the state conference of the party's youth wing as it would galvanise the party apparatus well before the announcement of the Lok Sabha elections for 2024.
They have also said that there is a huge turnout in each of his programmes and the DMK leader has a distinct oratory style using which he strong-wordedly attacks the Centre and Narendra Modi in particular.
He reportedly showed images of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and businessman Gautam Adani flying together in a private plane in a number of prominent places. In order to confront the BJP and its ally AIADMK, he is also addressing at the locations with pertinent facts and numbers.
Udhayanidhi Stalin is also seen relying on the seniority and expertise of leaders like S. Duraimurugan, Thangam Thenarasu, P.K. Sekar Babu, K.N. Nehru, and K. Ponmudi to energise the party cadres and supporters.
The party is also emphasising on the achievements of Dravidian model of government and criticising AIADMK during the campaign.
