Tamil Nadu: Villagers Cross Flooded Canal With Ropes As IMD Predicts More Rainfall — WATCH
On Wednesday, Water Resources Department issued a flood alert to 30 villages situated along the banks of the Thenpennai River in Tiruvannamalai.
In another part of Tamil Nadu, villagers crossed a canal with the help of a rope between the two neighbouring villages Valasai and Pudu Valasai.

The India Meteorological Department said that the rains are due to the formation of a low-pressure area which is soon expected to concentrate into a depression and gradually into a cyclonic storm.
IMD said, "The Low Pressure Area over south Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal became a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southeast Bay of Bengal & adjoining south Andaman Sea at 05:30 hours IST of Wednesday, the 29th November, 2023 and now lay centered over the same area.
"It is likely to move westnorthwestwards and concentrate into a Depression over southeast Bay of Bengal on 30th November, 2023.
Thereafter, it is likely to move northwestwards and intensify gradually into a Cyclonic Storm over Southwest &
adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal around 2nd December," IMD said.
