Tamil Nadu Minister Sekar Babu’s Daughter Seeks Protection From Bengaluru Police
Even last year, Sathish Kumar released a video seeking TN CM Stalin's help to marry Minister's daughter.
Chennai: Tamil Nadu Minister PK Sekar Babu's newly-married daughter has sought police protection from Bengaluru Police Commissioner after receiving life threats from her family. Jayakalyani, the daughter of HR & CE Minister PK Sekar Babu, sought protection as she recently married Sathish Kumar, a DMK member from a marginalised community, against the wishes of her family.
Jayakalyani has submitted a memorandum to Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant seeking protection, reported IANS.
The Minister's daughter said that she was in a relationship with Sathish Kumar for several years. However, her family had been objecting to the relationship.

She said that when she tried to get married to him a couple of months back the police arrested him and took him into custody.
"I suspect my father's role behind the arrest. I am an adult so both have decided to go ahead with the marriage," she said.
Fearing of a similar arrest might happen again, Jayakalyani moved to Bengaluru and sought Karnataka Police to provide protection on Monday. Having helped the couple to get married and being a witness to their wedding, activist Bharath Shetty said, the couple has been getting death threats from the bride's family due to which they have sought police protection.

Meanwhile, on a political front, Minister Sekar Babu appointed priests for temples from all castes. On Friday, the Minister paid a visit to late DMK patriarch Anbalagan on his remembrance day. He also distributed education kits to students on the occasion of TN CM and DMK president MK Stalin's birthday.
