Tamil Nadu Govt To Conduct 5th Mega Vax Drive On Oct 10, Aims To Inoculate 33 Lakh People
The state government aims to vaccinate at least 70-75 per cent of people by the end of this month
Chennai: Conducting back to back mega vaccination drives in Tamil Nadu, Health Minister Ma Subramanian on Tuesday said that the state government has targetted to achieve 70 to 75 per cent inoculation of the population with the first dose by the end of this month. This will be the fifth mega vaccination drive, the latest being conculded on October 3 (Sunday).
The health minister announced that there is another mega vaccination drive on October 10 (Sunday) in which there will be 30,000 camps and the government is expecting to inoculate at least 33 lakh people on that day.

Health minister claimed on Tuesday that at least 64 per cent of people have been vaccinated with first dose while 22 per cent are inoculated with second dose. "We have targetted to inoculate at least 70-75 per cent of people with the first dose by the end of this month," Health Minister Ma Subramanian.
In the previous mega vaccination drive that was conducted on October 3, the government has vaccinated 1.7 million with 9,68,000 receiving their first shot while the remaining 7,51,000 were inoculated for the second dose. The earlier campiagns were held on September 12, 19 and 26. According to a release from the health department, 2.89 million people were covered in the first mega vaccination drive, 1.64 in the second and 2.48 in the third.
