Tamil Nadu: Former AIADMK Minister Rajenthra Balaji Arrested In Karnataka, Produced Before Court
The Tamil Nadu police have decided to take him under custody once the judicial custody comes to an end on January 20.
Chennai: Former AIADMK Minister KT Rajenthra Balaji, who was arrested for job fraud in Karnataka on Wednesday, was produced before a court in Tamil Nadu on Thursday. The Minister who was absconding from Tamil Nadu police was arrested along with three other persons including his two PAs and an associate who were also reportedly involved in the scam.
According to a report on ABP Nadu, the arrested leader was brought to Virudhunagar district and the special team with Madurai DIG and Virudhunagar SP conducted an inquiry. After the questioning, the former Minister was produced before a criminal court in Srivilliputhur. Later, the Tamil Nadu police have decided to take him under custody once the judicial custody comes to an end on January 20.

Meanwhile, the former Minister was held after over a dozen victims alleged that Rajenthra Balaji swindled several lakhs with a promise of securing a job in state government departments including state-run dairy cooperative Aavin while he served as the Minister for Milk and Dairy Development portfolio.
Based on this, the police registered a case under sections including conspiracy, cheating and criminal intimidation of the Indian Penal Code.
Following this, the former Minister moved Court but his anticipatory bail plea was dismissed by Madras HC in December 2020. Rejecting the plea, the Court said, job rackets cheat and lure innocent people and put their life into question.

After this, the police formed a special team to nab the accused.
