Tamil Nadu: Class 12 Girl Student Ends Life In School, Madras HC Asks CBCID To Take Over Case

As per the Madras High court order, the case will be investigated by CBCID

Chennai: A week after class 12 girl student's suicide in Kallakurichi, another girl from Thekkalur village, who is studying Class 12 at Sacred Heart Girls Higher Secondary School, Kilachery in Thiruvallur district committed suicide on Monday at school's hostel.

As per the Madras High court order, the case will be investigated by CBCID. After knowing about the information, Tiruvallur Deputy Superintendent of Police Chandra Dasan and Sub Inspector Ilango rushed to the spot and recovered the body and sent it to Tiruvallur Government Hospital for post-mortem. District Superintendent of Police PC Kalyan, Tiruvallur District Collector Senthilkumar and the revenue department are investigating the suicide of the student.

Meanwhile, the parents and relatives of the child have staged a protest and held a 'road roko' at Thekkalur demanding action. The district administration has deployed heavy police protection around the school campus.

This is second such incident of a school girl's death by suicide within 2 weeks. Earlier on July 13, a school girl had died in school premises in Kallakurichi, after which violent protests erupted near the school, where the buses were set on fire.

As reported earlier by ABP Live, the Class 12 student who died under mysterious circumstances at the campus of a private school in Kallakurichi was laid to rest after the last rites at her hometown in Periyanesalur of Cuddalore on Saturday (July 23). The body of the girl was handed over to the family on Saturday morning after two autopsies were performed on her based on the Madras HC orders.
