Stranded Elephant Calf Reunited With Mother In TN's Anamalai Tiger Reserve — Video

Wildlife Department officials promptly initiated a search for the elephant herd, utilizing advanced drone technology, tracked their movements and united the calf with its herd.

In a rescue operation within the Manambolly range of the Anamalai Tiger Reserve in Tamil Nadu, wildlife officials reunited a 4 to 5-month-old elephant calf with its herd. The calf had been discovered wandering alone in a private estate, separated from its mother. Wildlife Department officials promptly initiated a search for the elephant herd, utilizing advanced drone technology, tracked their movements and united the calf with its herd.

According to ANI, in the Manambolly range private forest area of Anamalai Tiger Reserve, the Wildlife Department officials reunited a 4 to 5 months old elephant calf with its herd after it was found roaming in a private estate, separated from its mother. The elephant herd was searched with drones and the calf was safely reunited after giving him a bath to remove any human imprints or smells.


In Chennai's Ennore, the region that was affected by oil spills. The Forest Department officials were engaged in rescuing the Pelicans. Taking to X, Supriya Sahu IAS said, "TN Forest Department, Wildlife Trust of India and BMAD team have rescued 6 Pelicans till now from the oil spill area in Ennore. These birds are doing fine after cleaning of oil & treatment and have started to feed well. In this video - rescue of another Spot-billed pelican today from Ennore."
