'Rumour Mongering': Tamil Nadu CM Stalin On Speculation Of His Son's Elevation As Deputy CM

In Pongal greetings message to the people, Stalin mentioned that Udhayanidhi himself had addressed the matter, stating that all ministers were supporting the CM thereby bringing an end to the issue.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin rejected speculations about his son and Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin being appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state. Emphasizing his good health, Stalin dismissed these claims as "rumours." Additionally, he accused those opposed to the DMK Youth Wing Conference in Salem on January 21 of spreading these rumors.

In a Pongal greetings message to the people, Stalin said that some involved in rumour-mongering "spread false information about my health at a time when youth across the state were getting ready for Salem conference.

The CM stated that he had participated in an event on Friday, during which he expressed that he had no concerns as long as the people of the state were content and happy.

"I am healthy and cheerful. I am working, working, working. After this lie was shattered, rumours were being spread with an intention to create sensation, that deputy CM post (for Udhayanidhi) was going to be given," the 70 year-old leader added.

Stalin mentioned that Udhayanidhi himself had addressed the matter, stating that all ministers were supporting the Chief Minister, thereby bringing an end to the issue.

The CM said: "The prestige of being the Chief Minister, born out of the trust of the people of Tamil Nadu, is a responsibility that I hold dear. I have the strength to work beyond my capabilities for the benefit of you who have entrusted me."
