Udhayanidhi Stalin, His Aides Will Face 'Political Sunset' In LS Elections: BJP MP Dinesh Sharma

Rajya Sabha MP Dinesh Sharma emphasized that no one possesses the capability to erase India's 'Sanatan' culture, highlighting that even the British and Mughals were unable to eliminate it.

Rajya Sabha MP Dinesh Sharma on Friday strongly criticized DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin for his comments against 'Sanatan' Dharma. Sharma warned that both Udhayanidhi Stalin and his associates would experience a "political sunset" in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024. He further emphasized that no one possesses the capability to erase India's 'Sanatan' culture, highlighting that even the British and Mughals were unable to eliminate it.

In a statement in Lucknow on Friday, Sharma said, "No one has the capacity to destroy India's 'Sanatan' culture. This was a culture, which even the British and Mughals could not eliminate."

The former Deputy CM of Uttar Pradesh said that Udhay and his associates who emphazised on destroying the 'Sanatan culture' will face a political sunset in the General elections 2024. He condemned Udhay's comparison of  'Sanatan' culture with dengue and malaria.

He said, "India has presented to the world an excellent model of prosperity of 'Sanatan' culture through the coordination between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath."

On Friday, a new police case was registered in Maharashtra's Nagpur against Udhayanidhi Stalin, his Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) colleague A Raja, and Karnataka minister Priyank Kharge over their comment against 'Sanatan Dharma'. The complaint was given by
Ashish Gajanan Wandile, a native of Nagpur, who said that the words offended Sanatan Dharma adherents' religious sentiments.

Following this, the police have registered a case under various sections of Indian Penal Code.

On September 2, Udhayanidhi Stalin, the DMK youth wing secretary and the minister for youth welfare in Tamil Nadu, accused "Sanatan Dharma" of encouraging discrimination and social division and called for its eradication. This statement sparked a barrage of responses from the BJP and its allies.
