O Panneerselvam's Mother Palaniammal Passes Away At 95

OPS mom dies: On Friday, Palaniammal's health condition worsened and she died at 9.45 PM. 

Chennai: Palaniammal, the mother of former Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, died due to prolonged illness in Periyakulam on Friday. She was 95 years old. 

According to a report on ABP Nadu, Palaniammal was suffering from age-related illness for a long time now. A week back, she was admitted to a private nursing home in Theni. However, as her health condition did not improve, the doctors reportedly advised the family members to take her back home. 

On Friday, Palaniammal's health condition worsened and she died at 9.45 PM. 

Panneerselvam was in Chennai at the time of her death. After hearing the news, he rushed to Periyakulam. 

Upon reaching his home, Panneerselvam was seen holding the feet of his mother and sobbing. 

The death of his mother comes as a blow to O Panneerselvam as he is currently facing a difficult scenario after the SC verdict which favouring AIADMK interim general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami.

Palaniammal was brought up at Kamuthi in Ramanathapuram. Later, she married to Ottakara Thevar and gave birth to three children including Panneerselvam and Raja. 

On hearing about the demise of Palaniammal, Tamil Nadu CM Stalin took to social media and said, “I am deeply saddened by the passing away of former Chief Minister Anna @OfficeOfOPS mother Palaniammal due to ill health.”

“I offer my deepest condolences and condolences to Panneerselvam who is suffering from the loss of his mother,” he said.
