'Violation Of Service Terms': Tamil Nadu BJP Files Complaint Against Parent For Questioning Governor Over NEET Bill

The BJP members also marked a complaint to Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Chairman of Steel Authority of India.

Tamil Nadu BJP's Salem (East) District functionaries filed a complaint with the Executive Director of Salem Steel Plant against a parent working with the Central government's industrial plant for questioning Governor RN Ravi over the delay in giving assent to NEET exemption bill. In the complaint, the workers also urged the executive director to sack the employee since the parent was allegedly violating service rules by questioning the Governor. The BJP members also marked a complaint to Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Chairman of Steel Authority of India.

According to The Hindu, BJP Salem district unit president P Shanmuganathan along with BJP workers submitted a petition to SSP chief general manager SC Pandey. They requested the manager to sack the employee for the violation.

In the petition, the functionaries claimed that Ammasaiyappan was an employee of the Central Government but he spoke to the media and questioned the Governor in violation of the law. They alleged that the parent presents himself as a DMK employee and he would be free to voice his opinions only after he quits his position. However, they said, criticising the Centre while employed by the government is unacceptable.

On August 12, Governor felicitated the students from Tamil Nadu who excelled in NEET as part of 'Think to Dare' at Raj Bhavan. During that time, Ammasaiyappan raised a question related to NEET which led to the controversy.

Ammasaiyappan asked the Governor when he would give his assent for the anti-NEET bill passed in the Tamil Nadu assembly. The Governor immediately said that he would be the last person to give his assent for the bill.

Following this, DMK and other political parties criticized Governor for his reply.

Talking to the media, Ammasaiyappan said that NEET was discriminatory and the students need a huge amount of money to clear the competitive exam.
