'MGR's Work Continues To Inspire Us': PM Modi Remembers Ex-TN CM On Birth Anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to the late MG Ramachandran, former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, on his birth anniversary on Wednesday. He acknowledged that MGR had a lasting impact on the growth and development of the state. Wednesday marked the 107th birth anniversary of actor-politician MGR.
Taking to X, PM Modi said, "Today, on his birth anniversary we remember and celebrate the life of the great MGR. He was a true icon of Tamil cinema and a visionary leader. His films, particularly those on social justice and empathy, won hearts beyond the silver screen."
"As a leader and Chief Minister, he worked tirelessly for the welfare of the people, leaving a lasting impact on Tamil Nadu's growth and development. His work continues to inspire us," he said.

Former Tamil Nadu CM Edappadi Palaniswami also paid floral tribute to MGR at his residence in Chennai. In a post, EPS said, "On the birth anniversary of the visionary leader, it is my sincere request to the party officials, administrators, and supporters to strive for excellence in the electoral arena, uphold the principles, and work with dedication by uprooting the 'evil forces'."
"The significant glory of the visionary leader continues to flourish even after many years. Though thousands of years may pass, his monumental contribution to humanity and his divine presence among the people is immeasurable.
