'I Dedicate The Victory To 1.5 Crore AIADMK Members': OPS On Madras HC Judgment

After the Madras HC verdict on Wednesday, AIADMK coordinator O Pannerselvam paid respects to the MGR memorial, Anna memorial and Jayalalithaa memorial at Marina Beach in Chennai.

Chennai: “I dedicate the victory to one and a half crore members of AIADMK,” said AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam on Wednesday. After receiving a favourable judgment, OPS also said that a decision will be taken regarding conducting of general committee meeting after a discussion if necessary.

On Wednesday, the Madras HC ordered maintenance of the status quo as of June 23 in the AIADMK. The July 11 General Council (GC) meeting of the party had elected Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) as the interim general secretary.

The single-bench judge of the Madras High Court also ordered that the coordinator and joint coordinator can convene the GC again in the presence of a commissioner to oversee the council meeting.

At Jayalalitha Memorial, AIADMK Coordinator OPS said, “I paid my respects to AIADMK founder MGR and AIADMK Supermo Jayalalitha. This victory is a victory of one and a half crore volunteers of AIADMK. MGR, the founder of the party, turned the party into a movement of volunteers and after him Jayalalitha turned this into a movement that no one could defeat.”

“So, I dedicate this victory to one and a half crore volunteers. The Madras High Court has given a historic judgment that the decision taken in AIADMK General Assembly is invalid. So, no matter who wants to split the party, it will not happen,” he said.
