Everything To Know About Tamil Nadu's First Trans Publication Company, Film Company Inaugurated In Madurai

They have also scheduled the release of a novel 'Kotravai' in July 2022.

Chennai: Tamil Nadu’s first trans publication company and trans film company was recently inaugurated at E2E2 Road of Narimedu in Madurai. The trans publication company also has a library within its premises. 

According to ANI, Priya Babu, Director of Transgender Resource Centre said, "Salient feature of the library is that there are 200+ books & 10000 news collections, covering govt orders, SC judgments, etc."

The company will publish books written by trans persons and books related to trans literature, she said.

Priya Babu said that she came up with the idea since many transpersons are interested in authoring books but there's low acceptance of their works among the publications. Hence, she said that she decided to publish the works of transpersons and about transpersons, as per a report on The New Indian Express.

Even during the inauguration, a book was released in the function. They have also scheduled the release of a novel 'Kotravai' in July 2022.

On the film company, Priya Babu said that she has planned to shoot a film about a transperson named 'Ariagandi', the story will revolve around the life of a transwoman who led a village as a Jamin 400 years back. 

Meanwhile, the company has been registered as an MSME.
