Tamil Nadu Minister EV Velu said: " Earlier, if the people of the southern districts of Tamil Nadu wanted to file a case in the High Court, they had to go to Chennai, but former TN CM Karunanidhi made the DMK MPs raise this issue in the Parliament several times and brought the High Court bench to Madurai. The Madurai Bench of Madras High Court is Karunanidhi's alms."

Addressing the reporters on Wednesday, EV Velu said, "Only in the morning I realised that I had used the work works. Instead of saying that Madurai branch of Madras HC was a gift (Kodai) given by Karunanidhi, I wrongly mentioned it that way. I get back the words."

Meanwhile, Minister EV Velu announced that Kalaignar Centenary Library constructed at a cost of ₹218 crore would be inaugurated on the birth anniversary of former Chief Minister K. Kamaraj on July 15. The day is also earmarked as Education Development Day.
EV Velu also recalled that former CM Karunanidhi constructed Anna Centenary Library at Kotturpuram in Chennai on the 100th birthday anniversary of former CM CN Annadurai. The CM inspected the construction thrice personally, he said adding that the library was built fast.
