The Chief Minister's breakfast scheme is expected to benefit 17 lakh primary school students in Tamil Nadu.

During the event, CM served food for the school children and had breakfast with them. The same scheme was launched by Minister and Stalin's son Udhayanidhi in Chennai.

"Through this, Tamil Nadu is going to get many benefits. DMK is determined that no reason should stand in the way of education," he said.
Stating that DMK was running a government that attempts to impart knowledge to all, Stalin said that in the name of National Education Policy and NEET there were treacherous people who put barriers.
This is the time of Ekalaivan. A time when the Dravidian philosophy where 'everyone will get everything' stands tall, he said.
The CM first launched the breakfast scheme in Madurai on September 15, 2022. Through the initial Chief Minister's breakfast scheme, 1.14 lakh students studying Class 1 to 5 benefitted in 1,545 government primary schools on all working days.
On Independence day, CM Stalin announced the expansion of the breakfast scheme.
Later, Stalin had asked all MPs and MLAs to launch the scheme in their respective constituencies. It may be recalled that Tamil Nadu already has mid-day meals scheme.
