Three Migrant Children Charred To Death In Tamil Nadu's Chengalpattu In Suspected LPG Leak
Three children lost their lives in a fire outbreak suspected to be caused by an LPG leak in Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, their mother has been hospitalised with severe burn injuries.
Three children were killed in a fire accident suspected to be caused by a gas leak at their home in Chengalpattu, near Chennai in Tamil Nadu. The mother of the children, who has sustained severe burn injuries, is currently undergoing treatment at the Kilpauk Government Medical College Hospital, according to a PTI report.
A police official told PTI, that the fire was likely caused by a gas leak within the house. The family, originally from Bihar, had a stove positioned on the floor, and there were no windows in the house.
As per The New Indian Express, neighbours rushed to their aid upon hearing their cries for help, and all four family members were promptly taken to the hospital.
The incident occurred when the mother, with her three children, returned home after visiting her husband's workplace near the Chengalpattu railway station on Thursday. Upon switching on the lights, the gas ignited, leading to a sudden fire outbreak.

“No sooner had she turned on the switch than the gas got ignited and a fire broke out. Neighbours rushed to their help hearing their screams and all the four were rushed to the Chengalpattu government hospital,” the police official said. The children identified as Raziya Parveen (7), Saif Ali (5), and one-and-a-half-year-old Althaf succumbed to their injuries on Friday, according to The New Indian Express.
The mother who is currently receiving treatment has been identified, Roji Koothon, 24, was a homemaker, while her husband, Saddam, worked as a tea vendor at the Chengalpattu railway station.
The Chengalpattu police have registered a case about the incident.
