WATCH: TN CM Stalin Calls Chandrayaan-3 Project Director After Mission Success

Stalin said that the victory of Chandrayaan was not only a proud moment for Tamil Nadu but a moment of pride for India in the global arena.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin connected on a call with P Veeramuthuvel, project director of Chandrayaan-3 mission, after India's lunar mission successfully landed on the moon's surface on Wednesday. It is notable that Veeramuthuvel is from Tamil Nadu. The project director helmed the mission that has positioned India as only the fourth country worldwide to achieve a successful moon landing.

According to ANI, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin after the success of Chandrayaan-3, telephoned Chandrayaan-3 project director P Veeramuthuvel and congratulated him.

Speaking on the call in Tamil, Stalin said, "Congratulations. The victory of Chandrayaan is not only a proud moment for Tamil Nadu but a moment of pride for India in the global arena."

"I saw your father's interview from Villupuram. Convey my wishes to the entire team," Stalin told the Project Director. 

TN CM also said that he would meet Veeramuthuvel on his next visit to Tamil Nadu.

Responding to the CM, Veeramuthuvel thanked him for the wish and expressed his liking towards the service done by Tamil Nadu government. 

Veeramuthuvel (46) is the Chandrayaan-3 mission's project director and a native of Tamil Nadu. Veeramuthuvel who was born in Villupuram received a formal school education at Railway School in the district. He earned a diploma in mechanical engineering from a private polytechnic college before enrolling in a private college in Tambaram.

Veeramuthuvel later earned a PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. In 1989, he joined ISRO as a scientist. 

Later, taking to social media, Stalin said, "The successful lunar landing of #Chandrayaan3 brings an immense sense of accomplishment to Tamil Nadu. The three #Chandrayaan missions have been led by exceptional minds from Tamil Nadu - Mayilsamy Annadurai, M Vanitha, and now P Veeramuthuvel. Their dedication and expertise inspire us all. I encourage the young talents of #TamilNadu to follow in their footsteps and contribute to our #India's journey of progress! #ISRO #TamilConnect."
