Arunachal Pradesh Kickboxer Yora Tade Dies During Match In Chennai

Tade's body will be sent back to Itanagar after the autopsy and other formalities.

Chennai: A 24-year-old kickboxer from Arunachal Pradesh, Yora Tade, died after suffering a severe blow on his head during a match at Wako India Seniors and Masters National Kickboxing Championship at Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday. Yora Tade who collapsed immediately after a punch died without responding to treatment at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital on Tuesday. 

According to a report on the Times of India, Yora Tade qualified for the final match at the national level of kickboxing competition held in Chennai. During the match, Tade while trying to avoid a punch by his opponent kickboxer, Kesav Mudel of Maharashtra, he suffered a hard knock on his head. 

He immediately collapsed on the floor. The medical team rushed for help and administered first aid. He was then taken to Apollo Hospitals for treatment. However, the doctors at Apollo Hospital referred him to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH) at Royapettah.

In RGGGH, the doctors performed surgery on him and admitted him to the ICU. However, Tade died without responding to treatment on Tuesday. 

Following this, Suresh Babu, the chairman of Kickboxing Association, gave a complaint to the police. Further investigations are on.

Meanwhile, Tade's body will be sent back to Itanagar after the autopsy. From Itanagar, his body will then be taken to his native, Chimpu village.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Pema Khandu said, "Jolted to learn that our bright Kickboxer Yora Tade left for his heavenly abode. Too early to leave us, dear Tade! No words to express my grief. You will ever be in our hearts. Condolences to bereaved family, friends & admirers. May your journey to ultimate abode be peaceful! 🙏"
