Amid Rift With Stalin, TN Guv Ravi's 'Tamizhagam Vs Tamil Nadu' Pongal Invite Sparks Fresh Row
"Nadu” in Tamil Nadu means country. So, RN Ravi earlier refused to use the term since Tamil Nadu is a state.
Chennai: A day after a tussle broke out between Tamil Nadu government and the Governor over the use of words “Tamizhagam” and Tamil Nadu, CPI(M) MP Su Venkatesan tweeted that the invitation from Governor’s House for Pongal festival mentions Governor as “Tamizhagam Governor” instead of Tamil Nadu Governor.
According to ANI, “Tamil Nadu or Tamilzagam row | CPI(M) MP Su Venkatesan tweets that invitation from Gov House for Pongal festival mentions the Gov as Tamilzagam Governor, while he was mentioned as Tamil Nadu Governor in the invitation for the portrait ceremony earlier.”

Taking to social media, MP Su Venkatesan said, “The invite from Governor’s house for Chithirai festival addressed governor as "Tamil Nadu Governor". However, now the invitation for Pongal festival addressed him as 'Governor of Tamilagam'.”
“Just in the same speed in which he left the Assembly, the Governor should be expelled from the state in the same speed,” he said.
Su Venkatesan also said that the previous invite has Tamil Nadu government's logo. However, this time the invite has only Indian government's logo in all three places.
“The Governor refused to use Tamil Nadu government's logo since it says "Tamil Nadu" instead of "Tamizhagam". So, similarly can we expect him to walk out of the rented house and taxpayers' money?” he asked.

MP Kanimozhi said, “The name Tamil Nadu indicates our language, tradition, politics and life itself. So, Tamil Nadu will remain the same forever.”
It can also be noted that Tamil Nadu was named by former CM Annadurai.
