UP Weather: IMD Predicts Cold Wave Conditions With Drop In Mercury Level. AQI 'Poor' In Most Places

Lucknow is expected to report a maximum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 14 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.

New Delhi: The weather in Uttar Pradesh is set to witness a significant transformation over the next few days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

IMD predicted a drop in mercury level with an increase in cold wave conditions and dry weather. Here's how the weather and pollution situation going to be in the major cities of the northern state.       

Lucknow

Lucknow is expected to report a maximum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 14 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. Partly cloudy sky is expected to prevail throughout the day. The humidity level would be somewhere around 60% to 81%. Lucknow saw an improvement in the air quality with Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 256.

Varanasi

Varanasi reported a drop in mercury level on Tuesday. The maximum temperature is estimated to be 28 degrees and the minimum temperature 12 degrees Celsius. The city is expected to witness a cloudy sky with low visibility. At 236, the AQI stands at 'poor'.

Prayagraj

The maximum temperature is expected to be 28 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature 13 degree Celsius. The city might report fog in the morning with cloudy sky throughout the day. The AQI at 236 remains in the 'poor' category.

Kanpur

Kanpur has recorded a drop in maximum temperature. Similar to Monday, the minimum temperature is at 12 degrees Celsius. On Tuesday, the maximum temperature is estimated to be 27 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 12 degrees Celsius. The sky will be partly cloudy with fog in the morning. At 247, Kanpur's AQI is in the 'poor' category.

Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur on Tuesday is expected to record a maximum temperature of around 28 degree Celsius and a minimum of 14 degree Celsius. Foggy condition is set to prevail in the morning with a cloudy sky. There does not seem to be any possibility of rain, according to IMD. The air quality has reported a marginal improvement with AQI 275 on Tuesday.

Ayodhya

The maximum temperature in Ayodhya is estimated to be around 27 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature 18 degree Celsius. It will be largely cloudy with no possibility of rain, as per IMD. At 227, the city's AQI stands at 'poor' category.

Meerut
On Tuesday, Meerut is expected to see a maximum temperature of 28 degree Celsius and a minimum temperature of 8 degree Celsius. With low visibility, the AQI is recorded at 305, taking the air quality to 'very poor' category in the city.

Agra

The maximum temperature in the city on Tuesday is estimated to be 26 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature 11 degree Celsius. It will be cloudy in the morning. At 312, AQI of Agra stands in 'very poor' category.
