UP Election 2022: Mamata Endorses Akhilesh In Joint Presser, Says Don't Fall For BJP's False Promises

She even appealed to the women voters and students to come out in support of Akhilesh Yadav. She said that she will also visit Banaras on February 15, 2022.

New Delhi: As heat for electioneering is hitting its peak in Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party (SP) on Tuesday showed its concerted effort to dethrone the BJP in the state. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav did a joint press conference in Lucknow with TMC chief and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and got her endorsement.

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, in his joint press conference, took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's no physical show for Bijnor Rally on Monday saying Mamata Banerjee came from West Bengal and "some people could not come to UP from Delhi."

As per the information, PM Modi’s Bijnor rally on Monday was cancelled due to bad weather.

“BJP deployed its entire strength in West Bengal but they could not defeat Didi. She has come to Lucknow from Kolkata but those from BJP couldn't come to UP from Delhi stating 'bad weather.' BJP's plane of lies won't be able to land in UP this time,” Akhilesh Yadav said.

Banerjee came to Lucknow to support SP in the upcoming UP assembly elections. In her address in the press conference, she urged the people to vote for SP.

West Bengal CM said: “I urge you all to support Samajwadi Party and make them win, defeat BJP. Don't fall for false promises made by BJP... I will also visit Varanasi on 3rd March.”

“If Bengal is a part of her heart, then UP is also a part of her heart,” she said.

She further declared her support for the farmers saying that she stands with the farmers' protests, and even if BJP took back the three farm laws, it can get them back if they win the election. She also said that if BJP has any shame they should apologise to farmers as their MP’s son killed the farm protestors.

She also accused BJP of trying to buy votes in West Bengal and then failing. She said that if the people of West Bengal could do it, the people of UP can also do it.

She said that they will try to frighten you by sending central agencies, but you should not be afraid. She added that they sent these agencies to our party members, but the people of West Bengal proved them wrong by voting for TMC.

She further asserted that only Akhilesh Yadav and his team can get a bright future for UP. She added that Bengal and UP will work together in the future for development.

She even appealed to the women voters and students to come out in support of Akhilesh Yadav. She said that she will also visit Banaras on February 15, 2022.
