UP Cabinet: CM Yogi Adityanath Allocates Portfolios To OP Rajbhar, 3 Other Ministers

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath allotted portfolios to the four recently inducted ministers, including SBSP chief Om Prakash Rajbhar and RLD's Anil Kumar.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has assigned portfolios to the four recently inducted ministers, including SBSP chief Om Prakash Rajbhar and RLD's Anil Kumar. BJP leaders Dara Singh Chauhan and Sunil Kumar Sharma are the other two new entrants in the state Cabinet.

According to the Director of Information, Shishir, Om Prakash Rajbhar has been entrusted with the Panchayati Raj and Minority Welfare, Haj, and Waqf departments. Dara Singh Chauhan has been assigned the Prison Department, while Sunil Kumar Sharma will oversee IT and Electronics, and Anil Kumar Sharma has been given the Science and Technology Department, news agency PTI reported.

Dharmveer Prajapati, who held the Prison Department, will now oversee the Civil Defence Department, and Dharmpal Singh, who was in charge of Minority Welfare, Haj, and Waqf departments, will now be responsible for the Animal Husbandry and Dairy departments.

Om Prakash Rajbhar represents the Zahoorabad Assembly constituency of Ghazipur district, while Anil Kumar is an RLD MLA from Purkazi (SC) in Muzaffarnagar. RLD, SBSP Now Part Of NDA

The Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) and the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) are now part of the ruling NDA. The addition of these four ministers brings the total strength of UP's council of ministers to 56, out of a maximum of 60 ministers allowed by provisions. Dara Singh Chauhan, who recently won the UP Legislative Council election, returned to the BJP from the Samajwadi Party last year.

Om Prakash Rajbhar and SBSP rejoined the BJP-led NDA in 2023. Rajbhar, a prominent leader of the Rajbhar community in eastern Uttar Pradesh, had previously served as a cabinet minister in Yogi Adityanath's government but resigned from the minister's post before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The SBSP contested the 2022 UP Assembly elections in alliance with the SP and secured six seats.
