'Papa Drum Mein Hain': Meerut Man's Daughter Exposes Chilling Murder Plot By His Wife

Saurabh's mother revealed that his five-year-old daughter seemed aware that something was wrong, as she told neighbours that her father was inside the drum.

The Meerut woman, accused of murdering her husband with the help of her lover, attempted to mislead the victim's family by sending messages pretending he was still alive. According to a report by India Today TV, a chat conversation confirmed that Muskan Rastogi impersonated her husband, Saurabh Rajput, and messaged his sister, discussing plans to return home for Holi and exchanging festival greetings.

A few days later, Saurabh's sister grew suspicious and repeatedly tried calling him, but her calls went unanswered. Additionally, Saurabh's mother revealed that his five-year-old daughter seemed aware that something was wrong, as she told neighbours that her father was inside the drum.

"Papa drum mein hain (Papa is inside the drum)," the daughter of Saurabh and Muskan informed neighbours, as claimed by Saurabh's mother. "She (the daughter of Saurabh and Muskan) might be aware of this, as the neighbours told us that she (the daughter of Saurabh and Muskan) said that 'papa has been kept in drum'...She (the daughter) might have seen something, then only she was saying so," Saurabh's mother told news agency ANI.

Further, she launched her allegation against Muskan's family stating that they were aware of the entire incident, and before approaching the police, they consulted a lawyer to inform that their daughter had killed her husband.

"They informed the police...As soon as the police came, by the time she (Muskan) reached her mother's house to tell them...Her mother knew everything prior...But to mislead things, she (Muskan's mother) said that she (Muskan) reached them to tell them that she had killed him (Saurabh)...Her (Muskan) mother met some lawyer and reached court. Later, the police came and took the family (of Muskan) with them... They all (the family of Muskan) will be hanged to death along with that boy (Sahil)," Saurabh's mother told news agency ANI.

Murder Plot

As per the police investigation, Saurabh was last seen on March 4, the day he was reportedly killed by his wife and her boyfriend. Before killing, Muskan allegedly mixed sedatives with Saurabh's food in the night, leaving him to lose his unconscious. Later, she called her lover into the house.

The lover, identified as Sahil Shukla with Muskan stabbed Saurabh in the chest with a butcher's knife before slitting his throat. In order to make disposing of the body easier, both of them chopped off the hands of Saurabh.

The day after the murder, Muskan and Sahil purchased a large plastic drum, cement, and sand from a nearby market, sealed Saurabh’s body inside the drum, and hid it in Muskan and Saurabh’s house.

Following the brutal killing, the couple allegedly left for a vacation at a hill station. Locals noticed Muskan locking the house and informing neighbors that she was traveling to Himachal Pradesh with her husband. During this time, she sent misleading messages from Saurabh’s phone to his sister to create the illusion that he was still alive and to avoid suspicion.

The crime was exposed when Muskan’s mother approached the police, revealing that her daughter had confessed. Upon interrogation, both Muskan and Sahil admitted to stabbing Saurabh to death.

Saurabh had recently returned to Meerut from London, where he worked. Although he told his family he was in the Merchant Navy, police discovered that he was actually employed at a bakery in the UK. Saurabh and Muskan had a love marriage in 2016 and had been living in a rented house with their five-year-old daughter for the past three years.

Muskan’s father, Pramod Rastogi, told India Today that she killed Saurabh because he refused to let her take drugs. He claimed that Sahil had introduced Muskan to drugs when their affair began. "She told me that she could not live without drugs," he added.

He further condemned his daughter's heinous crime and stated that his daughter should be hanged for the crime she committed.
