'If There Is Negligence...': UP Dy CM Orders Probe After Newborn Delivered Near Raj Bhavan In Lucknow Dies
Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak has ordered an inquiry after a woman delivered a premature baby near Raj Bhavan and the newborn later died.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak on Sunday ordered a probe after a woman delivered a baby near Raj Bhavan in Lucknow and the newborn later died. Visuals of women covering the pregnant lady with sarees while she delivers the baby are doing rounds on social media. Talking to reporters, Pathak said that he has taken cognisance of the incident and ordered a probe into it. The woman delivered the baby near gate number 13 of the Raj Bhavan but the baby died in the hospital. Pathak, who also holds the Health portfolio, said that the woman was four-and-half months pregnant and the delivery was premature.
"The woman was four-and-half months pregnant. She was suffering from pain and gave birth to a premature baby on a rickshaw. We are providing all medical help. We have ordered an inquiry into the issue of ambulance not coming on time," he said.

The minister further added, "If there is negligence, no one will be spared."

According to PTI, he said, "What I have been told by the principal secretary is that this family was going in a rickshaw and the incident took place near gate number 13 of the Raj Bhavan."
The UP minister also visited the site where the baby was cremated and said the incident was 'very painful'.
