'Involved In Criminal Activities, Drug Addict': Family Distances Itself From Atiq Ahmed Shooter Lovelesh Tiwari

Atiq Ahmed and his brother Khalid Azim alias Ashraf, who were handcuffed, were killed at point-blank range on Saturday night at Prayagraj’s Colvin Hospital by assailants posing as journalists

Family members of one of the accused in Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf’s murder case, Lovelesh Tiwari have said that he has been involved in criminal activities earlier as well and is a drug addict. Speaking to ABP Ganga, Lovelesh’s younger brother Sarvesh Tiwari said that the accused used to visit home seldom and that the last he visited was around one week ago. “He used to take a lot of drugs and used to come home very rarely. The last time he came home was about a week ago,” Sarvesh said.

He also said that Lovelesh had been to jail earlier after he had slapped a girl and had joined Bajrang Dal which he later left.

“We had absolutely no idea that this would happen. His nature was fine but he used to take a lot of drugs. He did not tell anything about himself, where he was going, where he was coming from. Used to come home even at 12-1 in the night. Never thought that my brother would do this,” he told ABP Ganga.
