Telangana Man Builds Shrine For Late Wife In Warangal On Her First Death Anniversary

Venkatanarayana expressed that he built the statue to ensure Sujatha's memory would remain forever etched in their lives and to strengthen family ties.

In a tribute to his late wife, Venkatanarayana from Budharaopet, Warangal district, built a temple in her honour on their agricultural land. This act of devotion highlights the enduring bond between the couple, even after Sujatha's passing a year ago.

Sujatha and Venkatanarayana shared a life together for 33 years, navigating numerous hardships side by side. Sujatha, who had vowed to support her husband through life's trials during their wedding ceremony, left a significant void in Venkatanarayana's life upon her death. To honour her memory and their unwavering love, Venkatanarayana erected an idol of Sujatha and constructed a temple dedicated to her.

The statue of Sujatha was unveiled in the presence of family members, who gathered to pay their respects. The couple's son and daughter were also present at the ceremony.

In 2021, a man from Telangana honoured his late wife by installing a statue worth Rs 7 lakh in Gadwal town. Following the passing of his wife Rajayalaxmi in 2019, 86-year-old Hanumanthayya chose to place the statue in his field as a tribute to her memory. Similarly, in another incident, a woman from Andhra Pradesh constructed a temple for her late husband in Podili Mandal after he tragically lost his life in a road accident. The woman Padmavathi was married to Prakasam for several years before the mishap.

In Feburary last year, a man built a temple for his wife at the cost of Rs 7 crore in Odisha. The temple was constructed for 15 years with over 30 artisans from Tamil Nadu and marble artisans from Rajasthan. Earlier, a man from Tamil Nadu also constructed a temple for his wife.
