'Sarkar Tuhade Dwar': Convenience Redefined For Citizens

Punjab's "Sarkar Tuhade Dwar" initiative brings convenience to citizens by delivering 43 government services, including certificates, pensions, and bill payments, right to their doorsteps.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is making significant strides in bringing convenience to the people of Punjab. Through innovative policies aimed at increasing transparency and efficiency, citizens no longer have to navigate the red tape or visit government offices for essential services. Instead, these services are being delivered right to their doorsteps.

This initiative, called ‘Sarkar Tuhade Dwar’ (Government at Your Door), launched on December 10, 2023, ensures that citizens can access 43 different government services without the hassle of making multiple trips to offices. This not only saves time but also cuts down on expenses for the people. The initiative is being hailed as a model of governance and public welfare across India.

Hassle-Free Government Services

The ‘Sarkar Tuhade Dwar’ scheme covers a range of services, including:
- Birth and death certificates
- Income certificates
- Caste and residence certificates
- Pension documents (including old age and disability pensions)
- Utility bill payments
- Revenue record inspections, and more.

Citizens can now avail these services from the comfort of their homes by simply calling helpline number 1076 between 9 AM and 5 PM. Upon making a call, they will receive an appointment for the desired service. The application is then transferred to the district level through headquarters, where trained personnel process it further. A field officer is assigned to the case and visits the applicant’s home to collect any required documents and complete the formalities. Once the verification is complete, the applicant receives an e-certificate followed by a hard copy by mail.

Affordable and Accessible

One of the standout features of the ‘Sarkar Tuhade Dwar’ scheme is its affordability. For each service, citizens are only charged ₹120, with any additional fees depending on the service or document requested. This transparent pricing ensures that every person, regardless of their financial situation, can access the services they need.

Empowering the Youth and Creating Jobs

In addition to making government services accessible to the public, the ‘Sarkar Tuhade Dwar’ initiative has also been a boon for the youth of Punjab. The program has created employment opportunities for nearly 4,000 trained operators. These individuals, who now have secure jobs, work in service centers set up in every district of Punjab to facilitate the doorstep delivery of services.

Over 8 Lakh Citizens Benefitted

In less than a year since its launch, the scheme has already served over 8 lakh residents, who have praised the convenience and transparency it offers. From elderly citizens who may struggle with mobility to young professionals who find it difficult to make time for government paperwork, people from all walks of life are benefitting from the program. Additionally, the reduction in corruption and increased efficiency in service delivery has restored faith in public systems.

A Vision for a Brighter Punjab

The Mann Government's welfare policies, like Sarkar Tuhade Dwar, are helping realize the dream of ‘Rangla Punjab’, where governance is transparent, services are accessible, and the lives of the common people are made easier. These policies are a testament to the government's dedication to public welfare, ensuring that both money and time are saved while empowering citizens with efficient governance.

For Punjab’s people, this initiative represents more than just convenience; it reflects a government that is truly working for them, helping senior citizens and the everyday man alike to navigate life’s bureaucratic hurdles with ease.
