Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann's Vision For Child Protection

Punjab, under Bhagwant Mann's leadership, has initiated the Jagrit Awareness Campaign to promote child safety. The campaign educates schoolchildren about recognising appropriate and inappropriate touch.

In the state of Punjab, a new dawn of safety and security for children is rising under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. As part of the government’s commitment to creating a prosperous, secure, and happy Punjab, significant strides are being taken to ensure that the state’s children grow up in a safe environment. With initiatives like "Jagrit Awareness," the Punjab Government is setting a powerful precedent for social transformation that will echo for generations to come.

Creating a Safer Punjab for Every Child

Punjab’s commitment to child safety is unwavering, and the Mann Government has already launched key programs aimed at protecting children from exploitation and harm. A cornerstone of this effort is the Jagrit Awareness Campaign, focused on raising awareness about sensitive issues like child sexual abuse, a heinous crime that has no place in a progressive society.

Educating Children about Safe Touch and Bad Touch

The Jagrit Awareness Campaign is specifically designed to educate schoolchildren from Class 1 to Class 5 about the crucial concept of "Good Touch, Bad Touch." This initiative aims to empower children with the knowledge they need to protect themselves against exploitation and abuse. By teaching young minds to recognize boundaries, the Punjab Government is setting the foundation for a future where children are better equipped to understand and report any inappropriate behavior.

Mass Awareness in Schools: A Game Changer

The Jagrit Awareness Campaign has already reached impressive milestones. Under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s direction, the Punjab Government has successfully educated 286,036 children across 4,813 primary schools in the state. These children are now equipped with the knowledge to distinguish between good and bad touches, ensuring they can protect themselves in a world that may not always be safe.

But this initiative doesn’t stop at the students. The government has expanded the program to include school staff—principals, teachers, and even support staff like security guards and drivers. 15,753 staff members have undergone training to recognize inappropriate behavior and respond appropriately. This comprehensive approach ensures that both children and adults in schools are prepared to prevent and address child abuse.

Strengthening the Legal Framework and Protection

Along with awareness programs, the Mann Government is also committed to improving the state’s legal framework and child protection systems. By reinforcing laws and regulations that safeguard children, Punjab is creating a robust environment where children can grow, learn, and play without fear.

A Brighter Future for Punjab’s Children

The steps taken by the Punjab Government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership are transforming the state into a place where children’s safety and well-being are prioritized. As a result of these proactive measures, Punjab is setting an example for the rest of the country in how to protect and nurture future generations.

With the Jagrit Awareness Campaign, more than 2 lakh children have already been educated, and the impact continues to grow. The combined effort of the government, educators, and the community ensures that Punjab's future—its children—are not just safe but also empowered to live fearlessly.

The Mann Government is safeguarding Punjab’s children and securing a brighter, more promising future for all.
