Lighting Up Punjab: How the Mann Government is Powering Villages and Empowering Lives

Over 90% of households in Punjab now receive zero electricity bills. Households are saving thousands of rupees each year. It’s direct financial relief no paperwork, no drama, just benefits.

Imagine a Punjab where every home glows with light, every village street is bright and safe after sunset, and every citizen feels economically relieved. That’s not just a vision, it’s happening right now, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.

Power to the People: 300 Units of Free Electricity, Every Month

In a bold and people-first move, the Maan Government has been offering 300 units of free electricity every month to households across the state. This initiative isn’t just reducing power bills, it’s eliminating them altogether for most families!

Over 90% of households in Punjab now receive zero electricity bills. Households are saving thousands of rupees each year. It’s direct financial relief no paperwork, no drama, just benefits.

Since July 2022, when the policy came into effect, lakhs of families have experienced the difference. The Mann Government backed this powerful promise with a strong financial commitment ₹7,614 crore allocated in the current fiscal year alone to support the scheme.

Lighting Up Streets, One Home at a Time

But that’s not all. The Punjab Government is now making sure that streets in rural Punjab are bright, safe, and welcoming by installing 2.5 lakh+ street lights across villages in the next one year!

Instead of costly new poles, these lights will be smartly installed on existing household connections.
The electricity used by these lights will be adjusted from the household’s units, with reduced consumption counted.
No extra burden. Just better lighting.

To turn this plan into action, ₹115 crore has already been allocated in the current budget. It’s a smart, people-friendly solution designed for maximum impact.

A Government that Works for the People

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s administration is leading Punjab into a brighter, more inclusive future. From free electricity to energy-efficient rural development, the focus is clear: essential services must reach every household without hassle or hierarchy.

This is more than just a policy, it’s a powerful promise. A promise that Punjab will shine brighter than ever, rising village by village, home by home, light by light with Maan government illuminating not just streets, but lives.
