Darshan Thoogudeepa's Wife Meets DK Shivakumar; Deputy CM Clarifies Visit Was About 'Her Son's Readmission'
The police investigation into the Karnataka fan murder case revealed that Renukaswamy, a fan of Darshan, allegedly sent obscene messages to Pavithra Gowda, leading to his murder.
Vijayalakshmi, wife of Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, met Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar at his residence on Wednesday, following his statement expressing willingness to help the actor if injustice had been done to him. Darshan, along with his friend Pavithra Gowda and 15 associates, is currently in jail in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Shivakumar clarified that Vijayalakshmi’s visit was regarding the re-admission of their son, Vineesh Thoogudeepa, to a school previously attended. Vineesh was transferred to another school but now seeks to return. Shivakumar explained that Vijayalakshmi sought his help after the principal denied re-admission. He assured her he would discuss the matter with the principal, noting that there are several formalities, including examinations, to be considered, according to a report on PTI.
When questioned about his previous statement in Ramanagara, where he indicated his willingness to assist if Darshan faced injustice, Shivakumar clarified, “I told so as Darshan’s fans were raising slogans and demanding justice for the actor. Darshan is in judicial custody and the police are investigating it. I never interfere in the investigation or judicial process. Law will take its course.”
