'She Was Kicked In India..': Bajrang Punia's Statement On Vinesh Phogat After Her Paris Olympics Semis Entry Goes Viral
Bajrang Punia has claimed that even though Vinesh Phogat is about to conquer the world at Paris Olympics 2024, she was let down by the system of her own country.
Bajrang Punia has made a big statement after Vinesh Phogat stormed her way through to the Paris Olympics 2024 semifinal. Both were at the centre of the wrestlers protest against the then Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh alleging the man in power of sexually harassing female wrestlers in the country.
Recalling the protests, Bajrang, who failed to secure a Paris Olympics 2024 qualification berth himself, said that Vinesh Phogat might go on to conquer the world but she lost to the system in her own country.

"Vinesh Phogat is the lioness of India who won back to back matches today. Defeated 4-time World Champion and defending Olympic champion After that he defeated the former World Champion in the quarterfinals. But let me tell you one thing. This girl was kicked and crushed in her own country. this girl was dragged on the streets in her country. This girl is going to conquer the world but she lost to the system in this country," Bajrang wrote in a social media post in Hindi.

Vinesh Phogat Assures Herself Of A Medal Match In Women's Freestyle 50 Kg Wrestling
BaShe was up against Japan's Yui Susaki a four-time World Champion and the reigning Olympic champion in her first bout of the competition who hadn't lost a match in internatinal wrestling. However, Vinesh beat her 3-2 in a shocking result, an incredible one from the Indian point of view.

She then got the better of her Ukranian opponent Oksana Livach in a match that she won 7-5 to proceed to the final. Her semifinal is scheduled to happen later on August 6 (Tuesday).
