With this fiery display, Hardik not only helped restrict LSG to 203 runs but also etched his name in the history books with multiple records.

Best bowling figures by an IPL captain

Hardik now holds the record for the best bowling figures by a captain in IPL history, surpassing Anil Kumble's long-standing 4/16 against Deccan Chargers in 2009. Kumble now sits second on the list, followed by other iconic names like JP Duminy and Shane Warne.

Hardik also climbed the all-time list of most wickets taken as a captain in the IPL, equaling Anil Kumble’s tally of 30 wickets.

The duo now shares second place, behind only Shane Warne, who took 57 wickets in 54 matches as captain. Ravichandran Ashwin, with 25 wickets in 28 matches, now drops to third.

Hardik Pandya's all-round skills and leadership continue to shine, and his performance against LSG could be the turning point for MI in IPL 2025.

After being invited to bat first, Lucknow Super Giants posted a total of 203/8 against Mumbai Indians. The opening duo gave LSG a solid start, adding 76 runs for the first wicket. Mitchell Marsh was in top form, smashing 60 runs off 31 balls, while Aiden Markram anchored the innings with a steady 53 off 38 deliveries.

However, the middle order failed to maintain momentum. Nicholas Pooran managed just 12 runs, and Rishabh Pant continued his poor run with another low score of 2. Ayush Badoni contributed 30, while David Miller added a quick 27 off 13 balls to help LSG cross the 200-run mark. Shardul Thakur (5*) and Avesh Khan (2*) remained unbeaten at the end.
