Jos Buttler played a heroic knock for Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans, scoring an unbeaten 97-run knock off 54 balls, helping Gujarat clinch their fifth win of the season.

GT vs DC: Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 7 wickets in the 35th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on April 19 (Saturday). Jos Buttler played a heroic knock for Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans, scoring an unbeaten 97-run knock off 54 balls. This knock secured Gujarat's fifth victory of the IPL 2025 season, lifting them to the top of the points table. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals, led by Axar Patel, suffered only their second loss, causing them to drop from the top spot to second place.

Both GT and DC, along with Punjab Kings occupy the top three spots in the IPL 2025 points table, with five wins in seven matches and two losses.

Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill won the toss and opted to field first. Delhi Capitals got off to a flier as they were 73-2 after 6 overs. However, some wickets in the middle phase and towards the end costed them 15-20 additional runs as they finished with 203-8 in 20 overs. Skipper Axar Patel was the top-scorer in the side with a 39 while Ashutosh Sharma played a crucial 19-ball 37 runs innings to help DC cruise past the 200-run mark.

Chasing a target of 204, Gujarat Titans had a shaky start as captain Shubman Gill was run out early. However, Jos Buttler and Sai Sudharsan steadied the innings with a vital partnership, taking GT to 67/1 by the end of the powerplay. After Sudharsan's dismissal, Sherfane Rutherford chipped in with a valuable 43, providing strong support to Buttler. Though Buttler remained unbeaten and narrowly missed out on a century, Rahul Tewatia stepped up in the final over, smashing a six and a four off Mitchell Starc’s first two deliveries when 10 runs were needed, taking the team over the line.
