Daryl Mitchell, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star was practicising ahead of the team's match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at a net session, when one of his shot injured a fan who was there to cheer for the team. In a video which has gone viral on social media, Mitchell's shot can be seen causing significant damage to the fan's iPhone. However, it is the Kiwi batter's gesture for which the video has become the talk of social media.

The 32-year-old has not only apologised for the shot that hurt the spectator but even gave the fan a pair of gloves. The clip has since then garnered attention with fans praising the cricketer for his gesture.

Daryl Mitchell Third Highest Run-Getter For CSK In IPL 2024

Mitchell is the third highest run-getter for CSK in IPL 2023. The right-handed batter has scored 229 runs in 10 innings at an aveage of 28.63, with a strike rate of 134.70. He, however, has scored only 1 half-century and the team battling injury concerns and form issues, the team would expect more from Mitchell as they look to not only seal a place in the final four but also defend their title as they had won the 2023 edition of the competition.

Mitchell has smashed seven sixes in IPL 2024 so far to compliment his 16 boundaries. Given his slot at the number 3 position, Mitchell's form could be the key factor in deciding whether or not the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side would be able to proceed to the business end of the tournament.
