U-19 Asia Cup 2021: India Beat Afghanistan By 4 Wickets To Qualify For Semi-Finals

New Delhi: India's U-19 team on Monday defeated Afghanistan by 4 wickets to qualify for the semi-finals of the Under-19 Asia Cup. On Thursday, India will now play the semi-final match against Pakistan.

Batting first, Afghanistan scored 259/4. In reply, Team India won the match by 4 wickets with the help of Harnoor Singh's classy half-century as he scored 65 runs off 74 balls with the help of 9 fours.

Earlier, he had powered team India to victory by scoring a match-winning century. Another significant contribution was from Raj Bawa, who scored an unbeaten 43 runs.

For Afghanistan, Ijaz Ahmad Ahmadzai starred with the bat as he played a fiery knock of 86 runs off just 68 balls. Ahmadzai's innings also included 7 long sixes. Apart from him, Suleiman Safi contributed with 73 runs off 86 balls.

Team India is currently at second place in Group A in the points table of ACC Under-19 Asia Cup 2021. India has played 3 matches so far and won two matches.

Pakistan, who have won all three of their games, are in first position in Group A.

In Group B, Bangladesh is in first place followed by Sri Lanka in second place. Both Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have four points each, but due to the high net run rate, Bangladesh is in first place in Group B.
