Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo grabbed the world's attention following his interview with controversial British Journalist Piers Morgan. In the infamous interview, Ronaldo lambasted Premier League giants Manchester United and boss Erik ten Haig for 'betraying him'. The 37-year-old also criticized some former footballers, including England legend Wayne Rooney. Ronaldo took a dig at his former United teammate Rooney, saying that the latter was probably jealous of him as despite being of the same age, the Englishman no longer is part of the sport while the Portuguese superstar still plays among young players.

"I don’t know why he criticises me so badly… probably because he finished his career and I’m still playing at high level. I’m not going to say that I’m looking better than him. Which is true," Ronaldo said.

"He’s done a interview and it’s gone global. It's strange some of the comments but I’m sure #mufc will deal with it once they see the full interview and take whatever action they need to take," he concluded.
