Copa America 2024: Argentina have secured their berth into the quarter finals and maintain their cent percent record. Here is the updated points table and statistics from the tournament.
Copa America 2024: The defending champions of South America secure a quarter final qualification as Lionel Messi's menmanaged to beat rivals Chile 1-0 in their Group A fixture via a late winner from striker Lautaro Martinez. The Inter Milan forward, who was on a goal-drought run from September 2022 - March 2024, has rejuvenated his international career by managing to score 5 goals in his past 6 appearances.
Canada, on the other hand, shrugged aside their disappointing 2-0 loss to Argentina on Matchday 1, as they energed out victorious against Peru by winning the match 1-0. With the win, Group A is wide open for the second spot, as Argentina will be finishing the group as table toppers.
All eyes will be on the fixtures tonight, as one half of quarter finals can see a much clearer picture, especially with Argentina locked in to face the number 2 of Group B.
