World Cup 2019: Journalist claims Afghanistan's Mohammad Shehzad was ‘forcefully’ ruled out of WC 2019

Afghanistan's star wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Shahzad alleged that despite being fit he was removed from the ongoing World Cup 2019

A popular journalist M.Ibrahim Momand made a shocking revelation on Monday as he took to Twitter to post a message on his official handle, he claims to be of Afghanistan's star wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Shahzad. If journalist M.Ibrahim Momand  is to be believed, Shahzad had been forcefully pulled off the national squad and there's no issue regarding his fitness. Since the 2015 World Cup, Shahzad has been Afghanistan's second highest run-scorer in one-day internationals with 1,843 runs in 55 innings. Journalist M.Ibrahim Momand also revealed that AACB officials didn’t talk to Shehzad before taking him out of the squad. “I have no problem or injury & fully fit but @ACBofficials pulled me out of the squad by force without any consultation”Says @MShahzad077 who is ruled out of @cricketworldcup due to a knee injury in his recent voice clip to a media in #Kabul as he is set to return home tomorrow.” Another wicket-keeper batsman Ikram Ali Khil’s name has been approved by the ICC as Shehzad’s replacement. "The ICC has approved Ikram Ali Khil as a replacement player for Mohammad Shahzad in the Afghanistan squad for the remainder of the tournament," an ICC statement said. Shahzad, who is an integral part of the Afghanistan squad, had retired hurt after suffering a knee injury in the warm-up fixture against Pakistan. While he featured in Afghanistan's opening games against Australia and Sri Lanka, the so called injury ruled him out of participation in the rest of the competition. He scored a duck against Australia and then managed just seven against Sri Lanka as Afghanistan lost both encounters.
