'We Are Proud Of Your Achievement': Sanath Jayasuriya Hails Sri Lankan Singer Yohani

The 'Manike Mage Hithe' fame - Yohani is hailed by none other than the superstar of Sri Lankan cricket, Sanath Jayasuriya. The opening batsman who changed the course of playing the power-play overs in cricket is speaking about a song that is causing a revolution in India's digital space.

The YouTube video of Yohani's famous song, Manike Mage Hithe has garnered 133 Million views. 

The legendary SL batsman wrote: "Just a message to young Yohani. We are proud of your achievement. May you go from strength to strength!" in a tweet. 

Yohani is in India, all set to perform her trending Sinhalese song 'Manike Mage Hithe' live at different venues. "This is my first trip to India. I am really excited to see how it's going to turn out and what the reaction is going to be like," she told IANS.

Yohani also decoded the meaning of the song in Sinhala. "Manike is someone you call with love. Magey is mine, and Hithe is heart. It's about calling someone with love. It's a love song. Technically, the original song is sung by a male singer, Satheesan," she said.

The singer admitted that she doesn't know Hindi, but she is learning to sing in the language.

"I am still learning how to sing in Hindi," she said.
